Strata or Savory Bread Pudding

Any leftover bread cut into large cubes. You will need approximately 6 cups.
Any filling: ideas include Figs and Gorgonzola, Ham and Cheese, Italian Sausage or any sausage.
1 quart heavy cream
4 eggs
salt and pepper

Pour egg and cream mixture over bread and filling (enough to cover).

Let rest at room temperature for 15 minutes or so. Bake at 350 in a ceramic baking dish in a water bath for 45-55 minutes. Strata should be just set and golden brown.

Cut into wedges and serve.
